Celebrating the Retirement of Bob Cartner: A Legacy Built on Trust and Concrete
Author: Megan Joy
After decades of dedication, hard work, and a whole lot of concrete, Bob Cartner is officially hanging up his hard hat and heading into a well-earned retirement. Bob’s journey with the company began in a memorable way. While working for a construction company early in his career, he would often watch the concrete trucks pull up to the site. One day, he looked over and thought to himself, “I’m on the wrong side of the chute.” That moment sparked the start of a long and fulfilling career on the ready mix side of the business.
Throughout the years, Bob became known for his strong work ethic, his reliability, and the steady trust he built with his coworkers. “I hope I’m remembered as someone people could rely on,” he said. “Someone dependable and trustworthy.” And those who’ve had the pleasure of working alongside him would agree—Bob was all that and more.
Bob credits much of his success and ability to endure the unpredictable schedule of this industry to his wife. “This job came with long hours, early mornings, and a lot of travel. I couldn’t have done it without her dedication and patience. She was my constant support, and I’m so thankful for that.”
Looking back, Bob says what he’s most proud of is the tangible impact of his work. “Being a part of jobs from the dirt up to the final building or structure that’s what really sticks with me. It’s something special to drive by a site and say, ‘I was part of that.’”
As he looks ahead, Bob is excited for what’s next. “I’ve got a lot lined up. I’m looking forward to fishing, traveling, and finally having the time to enjoy some of the things I’ve always wanted to do.”
Bob Cartner, your dedication and craftsmanship have left a lasting mark not just on the structures you’ve helped build, but on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside you. Thank you for everything and enjoy every minute of your well-deserved retirement.
